2 Weddings and a Broken Camera

The tour involved a short ride from the Mike's Bikes store to the train station and from there a ~35 minute train ride to Versailles. Once there we rode to a small square area and bought our lunch items from the local vendors. We packed up and countinued the ride to the "Hameau da la Reine" or "the Queen's Hamlet". A small village area that Marie Antoinette had built so she could experience "village life" now and again.

A trip to the Petit Trianon and Grand Trianon and the gardens followed. This building is a giant marble building that is still used for some formal government events and to provide a location for private tours on Mondays (Versaille is closed to the public on Mondays).

After this we biked to the Grand Canal and ate lunch with a view of the Chateau. This is a part that you probably wouldn't do on foot based on the distances involved. It's well worth it.

After lunch, we completed the circle around the Grand Canal and parked the bikes for a tour of the Chateau de Versailles. This building has the Hall of Mirrors along with other official rooms. Part of the bike tour included the audio tour units so we were able to get a description of each room while we walked around.

We biked back to the RER train station and dropped the bikes off back at Mike's Bike. I ended up taking a couple pictures of a puppy who was playing near the store.

When we got back to our hotel, we also had our luggage! It had finally made it. Clean clothes and battery chargers! This was a great relief, as we also had clothes in our bags for the two weddings we were going to be attending next week.
